Why Filter Reviews?

We’ve all been there – searching for a local business. The first place you go is Google. You know nothing about the business you see in the search results except their name and their reviews. Who are you choosing?

Google places a huge weight on how popular a business is when deciding how high to show it in the search results. If you don’t have a bunch of glowing reviews you’re being hit twice – you’re far less likely to show up in the results, and if you do, you’re far less likely to be picked.

As a business owner, you know the damage a bad review can do to your business and the boost you can get from having a bunch of good reviews. You want full confidence you can drive reviews without the risk of a rouge bad review undermining all your hard work.

What Review Platforms Does It Work With?

Currently, ReviewBooster works with all the platform’s important to Kiwi businesses – Google Reviews, Facebook Reviews, TradeMe, No Cowboys, Expedia, Booking.com, Airbnb, TripAdvistor, Hotels.com, BuildersCrack, Trust Pilot and Agoda.

If there’s a platform missing that you want – sing out! We can normally get it added for you within a few working days for no extra charge.

How Much Does It Cost?

It’s free to register and take a look around the site. You can see what the platform is like and how to set it all up, but your ReviewBooster links won’t start working until you subscribe.

Once logged in you can sign up for the monthly subscription. Alternatively, select the optional setup package here (without having to even register), and we’ll do everything for you.

There are no terms – you can cancel anytime.

$129

Optional Setup

You can set it all up yourself (it’s really easy!) or, if you prefer, we’ll set it all up for you for a small fee.

Who Can Use This Service?

Well, any business really. But it’s going to really beneficial to local businesses in competitive industries. Those that really rely on being found online by new customers to keep the lights on. Those that know the benefits of a great online review presence, and the challenges a bad review can bring.

Automotive

Whether you’re a mechanic, a tyre shop, a car dealer or someone else in the industry – you know there’s not much loyalty any more these days and plenty of sceptical customers.

Show them you’re the best by ensuring all your happy customers are leaving 5-star reviews, boosting you to the top of the field.

Restaurants & Cafe’s

You know already how competetive your industry is. Reviews for Restaurant & Cafe’s are among the highest relied on of any industry.

Pop the link on a sign on your counter and include it automatically on every receipt you print out to steam ahead of the competetion.

Tourism Operators

More than almost any other industry, you rely on that first impression in the search results – a large amount of your customers are first and only visitors.

Weave the review link into their visit and follow up afterwards to ensure you next round of customers view you before the competetior.

Rental Companies

Whether it be rental property management, vehicle rental, equipment rental or something else.

Don’t miss out on the good reviews you’re already earning from happy customers – pop the link on your invoices and on your counter and you’re good to go.

Hotels & Motels

In an industry that has a high number of first-time customers, having a better review rating than your competitors is essential.

Leave a review card in the customer’s room, and email or text them after their stay with the review link to rocket your way to the top of the list.

Medical Services

Whether you’re a GP Surgery, a dentist, a physio or somewhere in between, you’ve likely got a solid base of customers you can draw on to give yourself that first boost.

Then, sending new customers a review reminder after each visit will ensure you’re fast-tracked up the search results.

Lawn & Garden Maintenance

In a competitive industry with lots of existing operators and lots of new ones starting every week, having a solid base of online presence will ensure your slice of the pie isn’t being reduced.

Hand out your review link to every customer either in person, on your invoice or over text after the job to ensure you are the most competetive you can be.

Tradies

Times are tough at the moment with less work and a lot of undercutting. Potential clients rely on Google searches and reviews more than ever to find the builder, plumber, sparky or other tradie “near me”.

Leave your review card behind on every call, and pop the link on your invoices to capitalise on all your happy customers and get to the top of the list.

Gyms

You’ve set yourself apart with your environment, you’ve set yourself apart with your pricing structure. Now it’s time to set yourself apart with your reviews to keep yourself as the number one preference for new members.

Reach out to your existing base to boost your reviews on day one, then ensure every new customer gets sent the link after a month!

What can I do to maximise my reviews

There are a few key ways to ensure that when you ask for a review it turns into positive feedback:

  1. First and foremost – give good service!
  2. Seek feedback either instantly, or within a couple of days of the service being provided. Using methods like sending a text message are more likely to be seen than email.
  3. Use ReviewBooster to help filter out any negative reviews so that you can respond to the customer directly in private.

Will people know that I'm using this service?

Maybe, but it’s not promoted. When customers visit your review link they will either visit reviewus.nz/yourbusiness, reviewme.nz/yourbusiness or yourbusiness.co.nz/review, the latter being the best option to distribute if you have it set up. None of the links will show any ReviewBooster branding.

New customers finding you through Google search (or other platforms) will only see how many reviews you’ve got, not how you’ve got them.

Can customers just leave a bad review anyway?

You can’t stop anyone from going to your review profile and leaving a review. What you can do is:

  • Use ReviewBooster to ensure that you’re getting a ton of positive reviews to drown out any negative reviews you get
  • Use ReviewBooster to try and catch negative feedback before it gets posted publicaly
  • Ensure you respond constructive to any negative feedback
  • If the review is malicious (e.g. from someone that never was actually a customer), most review services let you contest it and get it removed.

Is it legitimate to get reviews this way?

Yes totally! These are your actual customers leaving genuine reviews.

Can I remove bad reviews from Google or other platforms?

Normally no, once they are there, they are there to stay. You can appeal the review to the operator of the platform, and you may have some success if they are reviews that are clearly malicious (for example if they are not from a legitimate customer, but from someone trying to harm your business).

If they are a legitimate customer that has just left a bad review then your chance is almost zero. All you can do is work hard to get as many genuine 5 star reviews to drown the bad one with all your good reviews.

Are there any minimum terms?

Nope, none at all. Sign up and leave the next day if you want – we rely on adding value to your business for your continued custom, not locking you in to anything.

What review platform should I focus on?

The default answer is always going to be Google Reviews, as Google is by far the biggest search engine that is used by most people.

The exceptions would be if you or your industry receive a lot of your contact through one of the other platforms (such as Booking.com or Airbnb), or if you have a particular need to have a high ranking on a particular platform that’s important to your business (such as TradeMe), or if you have a poor ranking on a particular platform that you feel the need to improve.

You can link to all of them and let the customer decide, or you can focus on one for a period of time and then change your focus to another.

What do I do if the platform I want isn't in your list?

Get in touch with us at [email protected]. We can normally integrate a new platform for you within a few days at no extra charge.

Does Google really care about reviews in their search results?

Yes absolutely. Google never fully discloses how they rank search results (otherwise people try to game the system), but they do say that the major factors are:

  • location (i.e. how close the business is to the searcher),
  • relevance (i.e. how similar your business is to what the searcher is looking for), and
  • popularity (i.e. the more people that like this business, the more likely it is that it’s right for the current searcher).

Your online reviews play a major role in the popularity factor, showing Google that you are popular and you are likely to be the right answer for someone searching for your service.
